Walter Lamb for Brown Jordan Bronze Dining Chairs, Pair, and footstool

A pair of iconic midcentury dining or side chairs designed by Walter Lamb for Brown Jordan. Created from slender tubular bronze, Lamb’s deceptively simple frames are wrapped with woven cord to form the seat and back, giving the chairs their distinctive combination of architectural geometry and relaxed California modernism.

The bronze frames have developed a beautiful natural verdigris patina, giving each chair an individual, time-worn surface. Originally designed as outdoor furniture, Lamb’s work has become increasingly collectible for its sculptural quality and ability to move effortlessly between garden, terrace, and interior spaces.

The woven material has been updated from the original cotton roping while retaining the character and proportions of Lamb’s design.

Condition
Good vintage condition with expected surface wear and substantial natural verdigris patina to the bronze. Woven seats and backs are later replacements. Patina and variations are consistent with age and outdoor use.
