Sonia Risolia (American, 1926-2002) Abstract Watercolor on Board

Sonia Risolia Abstract Watercolor on Board, circa 20th Century

An atmospheric abstract watercolor by American artist Sonia Risolia (1926–2002), depicting a mysterious woodland landscape in rich ochre, amber, and burnt orange tones. Delicate, gestural trees rise from a shadowed forest floor, with subtle suggestions of figures and faces emerging among the branches. The painting’s warm, earthy palette and expressive marks create a dreamlike sense of place—equal parts landscape and memory.

Signed in the lower right and presented in its original silver-tone metallic frame. A compelling work for collectors of regional American art, atmospheric landscapes, and richly layered interiors.
