An uncommon example of mid-century Wedgwood, this eight-inch Patrician bowl is associated with Norman Wilson (1902–1985), whose experimental glaze work marked an important chapter in the pottery's twentieth-century history.
The shallow form features an elaborate relief-molded border of floral medallions and scrolling ornament, with warm brown detailing against a subtle gray wash glaze. The contrast between its classical pattern and modern glaze treatment lends the piece a quietly distinctive character.
The underside bears impressed WEDGWOOD, NW and 6 P 59 marks, consistent with a 1959 date and Wilson attribution. Surviving Rubin Collection labels and a historic Skinner label offer additional collecting provenance.
