Pair of Green Marble Architectural Pedestals

A distinguished pair of tall architectural pedestals fashioned from richly figured green marble panels. Reportedly removed from a former bank in New Orleans, each presents a deep green-black ground animated by dramatic pale green and white veining.

Hollow rather than carved from solid blocks, the pedestals were likely originally employed as interior column casings or decorative architectural elements. Their unusually slender proportions lend themselves beautifully to placement flanking a doorway, console, or large artwork, and they may also be repurposed as elegant display stands for sculpture or decorative objects.

Sold as a pair. Wear consistent with age and former architectural use. Exact bank, date, and maker are unknown.
