A commanding mid-century French copper jardinière, raised on a tall baluster-form pedestal with stepped detailing and a shaped plinth base. The generously proportioned vessel has a warm, time-darkened copper surface, punctuated by brass banding at the rim and collar.
Standing nearly four and a half feet tall, the piece reads as much like architectural sculpture as a planter—particularly striking in an entrance hall, conservatory, covered terrace, or layered garden room. Its beautifully mottled patina and natural tonal variation speak to age and use.
French, circa 1960.
