Pair of Bronze Renaissance Revival Candlesticks

A handsome pair of heavy bronze candlesticks in the Renaissance Revival tradition, composed with the sort of ornament that rewards a closer look. Broad, tiered bases are densely worked with scrolling acanthus and floral relief, rising through paneled columnar stems embellished with classical foliage and architectural detailing.

The bronze has settled into a deep, variegated patina, with warmer highlights across the raised decoration that reveal the intricacy of the casting. Substantial in both weight and presence, they are equally commanding on a dining table, mantel or console—even before the candles are lit.

Maker and precise date unknown. Sold as a pair. Presented in vintage condition with surface variation, patination and wear consistent with age. Please review photographs.
